A Poem by I Am Svetlana

The night is calling
I must answer.

I open the door
And stand on the porch.

I breathe in the cold air
Taking a seat on the bench.

I think about us
And how we used to be.

Times like these
Make me think of you.

They make me wonder
What we could be if we just kept going.

If we never gave up
If we never got scared.

You were more than perfect
And I let you go.

What am I to do now?
Without you...

Oh insomnia cast me adrift
to tread the waters of our past
screaming...
why!
Alone and confused.

You penned the late night what ifs we all suffer when insomnia holds us close refusing to let us or our past go.

Nicely done, keep em' coming
