An Exit

An Exit

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

See it from my point of view.

That I honestly wasn’t meant for you.

Knowing I wasn’t that type of girl

You wanted in your bed.

I must’ve had some fucked up daydreams

Running through my head.

I don’t understand

What made me fall for you.

I felt you were to be my everything.

When you turned out to be nothing.

What was wrong with me?

Acting like it was okay to treat me like that.

I’m a girl for God’s sake.

Have some respect.

Now I understand

That you’ll never love me like I loved you back then.

Maybe it is time

For me to lift up my head

And walk out the door for good.

I like the meaning but the pattern of the rhymes is really off. I wish there was a little more order to the poem.
