Slipping Away

Slipping Away

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

That day I realized
I couldn't hold onto you forever.
You were slipping away
And I developed a thought
To put a gun to my head.

I knew you would be slipping sometime
I just never thought it would be this soon.
I can't have you leave.
Or else I would be nowhere.
Stuck, trapped
And not having a clue.

One day,
I dare to put that gun to my head.
And my last thought will be of you.
How you were and meant everything to me.
How much I loved you deep inside my heart.
No one will understand how I felt that day.
Until they read this.

Soon, they will know.
And once they know,
They will learn to understand my feeling.

I almost hoped to find a disclaimer to this poem. Very convincing content. The flow of the poem is excellent.
Keep writing.
