People

People

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Tell me something:

Who are you?

And who am I?

We are just people.

Simple people.

Birth creates us

And life soon destroys us.

We cannot be nor measure up to God.

Who do you think we are?

We are not immortal.

We are just people.

Simple people, like I said.

Some are rich, some not.

But we can’t all live that luxury.

Life will take us where we need to be.

To guide us in the right or wrong direction.

I am a figment of some god's imagination
and you - a somehow insertion of randomness
into the preset order of my supposed consciousness.

Does that work as me telling you something:
Who I am
and who you are?

You gave a fair start to a morality play.
I look forward to its development.
