The Lotus That Landed on My NoseA Poem by Emilia SvejdaA short poem about a seemingly mundane yet transformative experience. That day, standing there in the sun, looking up at the clouds, A white lotus floated down from the sky and landed on my nose. I couldn’t help but feel surprised when the little gentleman broke me from my daydreaming. I took him from my face and held him in my hands. I looked at him with question mark eyes, and he tipped his hat. “Didn’t mean to give you a fright, madam.” Then he took from my hands and floated up to the heavens again. A daydream tried to settle in as I watched him go, but he had thoroughly roused me. © 2023 Emilia SvejdaReviews
