It states wonderfully what is perhaps the 800-pound gorilla in the room for all writers; that we have these little snatches of epiphany which we try to weave into a coherent whole, yet the universe--the one of thought, belief, and idea as well as the physical one-- is just too large, too incomprehensible for us to wrestle to the grounds. This is actually a pretty damn big thought, and very nicely expressed.
I love this thought, Emily. That happens to me all the time ... sometimes, I find my pea sized thought and it grows ... other times, it stays the size of a pea. Funny how thoughts work.
Plenty of good things are intended to be pea-sized...toothpaste on your brush for example.
I like how the size of the poem refelcts the message.
It lasts for quite a while, because you've maintained a controlled pace using line breaks and tone.
Thanks for sharing this with us.

to the Lost Boys
I am no Wendy;
but my voice brings you back to me.
And you sit around my feet,
anxious for a story
or a kiss.
Listening to my words
spinning adventures,
like so much g.. more..
