Conscience

Conscience

A Poem by Emily

I found out something

about someone who I unfairly judged.

I listened to others.

I didnt think for myself.

Now i feel guilty

about the things I thought

even if they were never said.

The horrible thoughts that always filled my head.

So in their eyes there may be nothing to forgive.

But thats no excuse

because my own conscience holds a grudge.

Very well put. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way now and then. Life gives us lessons to learn and grow from. Your fortunate that you know your mistake and have learned from it. We all must learn from our strengths and weaknesses.

Funny, we are so quick to judge. That really is one of my biggest faults. Very heartfelt. I love the last line. Something to reflect on...

Great poem.
