Snow Day

Snow Day

A Poem by Emily

The night before,

you watch the snow fall,

gently on the wintery ground.

As you get up hope abounds.

You're praying, wishing to hear that sound.

The five little words,

that make everything okay

Today is a SNOW DAY!!!

So short and full of the emotional essance a truely powerfull poem can posses...I love short poems best of all, they say so much in such a few lines...I am always amazed by a poet who can say so much in such a short piece...Awesome

We've experienced the most snow ever recorded here on the East coast where I live and every day I look outside, I see snow all over. This piece takes me back to my youth with the excitement and anticipation of a snow day. Listening 5, 6, or 7 AM in the morning or however early waiting to hear all the school closings and than running out to play in the snow without a care in the world. This poem well written, short and sweet, hits the right spots. Thank you for sharing, really brightens up my day and think back to those good old days. --Broken Soul
