I hate poetry

I hate poetry

A Poem by awkward turtle
"

Another CW assignment: a villanelle. It was a huge challenge for me to try to write, so I eventually gave up and just wrote about how much I hated it.

"

It’s  poetry I hate to write
No matter how I try
The words never sound right

To watch me attempt; what a sight!
I feel like I'm writing a lie
It's poetry I hate to write

To a true poet my talent is slight
At my efforts he would sigh
The words never sound right

Most pages I'll throw to the fire to light
Then watch the flames grow high
It's poetry I hate to write

The frustration invades my dreams at night
I find myself asking why
The words never sound right

To write never again would be a delight
Give in to failure with cry
It's poetry I hate to write
The words never sound right

Hm. I liked the flow of this poem. I don't care if you hate to write it. Your good so continue. Hahah.

I have so many wonderful friends who write in form so beautifully . . . and my words never fall that way. This is good. I liked it :)

Personally, I think the words of this poem sound right. Quite right, actually. Keep up the good work.
