Chapter one
      Dear Jemma,
You don't know me, but I go to school with you at your old school, because you just moved. Anyway, I'm Sam, I know how your life is. Some people are just like you. Everyone knows life is hard. But you got to put your work in it. I have to go. Reply to me.
~Sam Reyn
I put the note on my little red desk, I sighed and fell onto my soft white fabric bed, I groaned. I hated when people sent me notes, I never did reply to them. Yesterday I lived in Rickard and today I live in Farbal. I like to be alone alot. I begin to close my eyes when there's a knock on my door. "Jem, may I come in?" mother asked, and she came in. Her medium brown golden hair was straight,  she had brown eyes. She was forties but looked like she was in her twenties.
"How are you feeling?" she asked, with a worried look on her face.
"Alright I guess. I'm just kind of pissed off that we moved."
"Honey" she sat down by me "I know your mad, but we needed to leave that town. There was so much sorrow and pain there, the horrible memories. If we didn't leave. You would remember when your father was sick when you were seven."
