Fading with dawns light

The feelings of losing a loved one

 

 

I lay in his arms, dreading our last kiss
There will be no more nights beyond this
Our time together has run its course
His heart fails and leaves me in remorse

All these years, yet they're still not enough
I shall try to be brave, I’ll try to be tough
But the pain is too intense for me to bear
Knowing it's the last time I’ll hold him near

Fingers entwined, our hearts beating in tune
How can the end of us have come so soon?
We watch darkness fade with each painful sigh
Why do we have to say our last goodbye?

The rain outside falls slow, mimicking my tears
We whisper of our deep love thru the years
Holding on so tight, but life flees with each breath
There’s no consolation, no relief when there is death

Soon moonlight shall fade with dawns light
I can no longer hide my pain in shadows of night
As day comes to life, darkness is dying
That’s when the sun will catch me crying
