A toast to lonely memories

Here's to spending this night alone, again.

I miss you

how long will I?

It's been so long since

we parted, but my heart

refuses to except this as  fact

each day brings no relief from memories

of a love so deep yet not deep enough to last

December has slipped into January once more

wherever you are tonight, baby, here's a toast to you

I hope you're happy.  so. Another unhappy new year to me
