i want to go to that place

that place i read about it in the books

those fantasy books

i want to live in that place

that place where i am always enveloped in, reading in my room

that place where magic exists

and handsome princes

and cats who can speak to you through your mind

i want to go to that place

where sexism is fought against

i want to go that place

where kingdoms and monarchs are positive things

i want to go that place

where one can learn sorcery

i want to go that place

that is so much better than here

where one can be happy and do 

what they want to do 

with bravery

and not sadness

i've been reading a lot of fantasy lately and I'm getting kinda wistful...

good a use of punctuation could have made it better however at the same time it helped add this unrealistic feel to the poem, enjoyed the idea of not just escaping but bring the values of fantasy such as courage and bringing them back to our world where we lack such qualities.

I second the notion expressed in this poem entirely and wholeheartedly. I love that wishing feeling you've penned in every line: wishing for magic to be real, wishing that the characters on the pages of the book you're reading would move and breathe and live.

Sci-fi and fantasy are my favourite genres! Wouldn't it be incredible? Have you read Inkheart?
When I read that I thought to myself how incredible it would be!

i hear you, fantasy is definitely my choice of escape, the honor, the adventure, magic and true undeniable love…. Humanity at its best, but why call it fantasy….. I am sure we can find this in our day to day… though maybe not the talking cats… (to be honest, I think it would freak me out;)
