Sturdy ClothA Poem by WoodyLow price doesn't always rhyme with qualitySome shop for food and some shop for clothes Some shop for presents while their joy shows Some like to spend and some just for sport And some buy even when money’s short But Jude is a widow who’s lost her man His name’s Daniel but she called him Dan She’s right now in the shop to buy a shroud But the price is steep, for crying out loud! Why so expensive she tells the teller? We sell only the best, he tries to tell ‘er But it’s cheaper next door she retorts The man is amused, gives a smile of sorts Go there, then and buy what you came to seek The deceased’s knees will peek through in a week © 2014 WoodyReviews
