Winning the Human Race.A Poem by Rose DowningA view on humanity.
Imagine if all of humanity,
All that makes me and you, Were gathered as a single entity, A unity, diverse and true. What face would you give this being, When it is all faces as one? All races, all sexes, everything, Beneath the same bright sun. If you compare how long we've been here To when the dinosaurs went extinct, We’re just a child, sweet and dear, At a moment fragile, distinct. Take a moment to imagine it, And hold that face in mind each day, And let me share this truth with you: Children are shaped by what you say. Don’t go around calling people dumb, And “sheeple” isn’t kind to say. Don’t proclaim doomsday or that we’re done Protect this child in every way. Nourish, support, and help it grow; Spoil it like a child who’s loved! It’s the only family we’ve known, Wished for some parent from above. © 2025 Rose DowningAuthor's Note
