My monster

My monster

A Poem by Enwick

They look at me
With fear In their eyes
They tell me I'm a monster
Isn't that what you wanted?

You broke me
You gave me the tools to build my walls
You helped set them
Now you tell me they're too high?

You lowered me into rock bottom
You lay me against the stone
Helped me find comfort in the cold
In the silence
Now you tell me I'm too far?

You made me love you
Made me adore the light shining off your ocean eyes
Crave the touch of your silk hands
The sound of your angelic voice
You turned that adoration into a beautiful dagger
And you stabbed me with it
Now you tell me I bleed too much?

You
You are the monster
With your shining teeth
And your perfect claws
You lured me into your cave
And you carved away at me
Piece by piece
Until there was nothing left

You cast me aside
Alone
Behind my walls
At the bottom of my cavern
In my pool of blood

You are the monster
But you were once my monster
And you were beautiful
