The scars of our love will never fade on my heart

Even though we are worlds apart
Separated by stars
I have to thank you

Thank you for letting me know you
Thank you for letting me love you
And for loving me

Thank you for introducing me to your lips
The smell of your hair

Thank you for wearing my clothes
Just so you'd linger on them

Thank you for showing me your smile
And the teeth you always hated
The teeth I always loved

Thank you for holding me
In your warm bosom
Cradled against your impossibly soft skin

Thank you for wiping away my tears
Promising me it'll all be okay

Thank you for laughing with me
Until our stomachs were sore
And we could not say a word

Thank you for understanding my grief
And for holding my head up when it got too heavy

Thank you for letting me see your body
To plant gentle kisses on every place you hated

Thank you for letting me kiss you everywhere
To adore your beauty

Thank you for showing me those songs
They will never allow me to forget you
For your voice will forever be an echo in their lyrics

Though it was out of our control
Though it was inevitable
I will never forget you
I will never forget our final kiss
And how we both knew it was the last
Even though we went in for one more

Even though some higher power
Out in the universe
Deemed our love for eachother to crumble under it's own weight

For you helped stich it closed
