Optimism

Optimism

A Poem by Andrea
"

safety in false happiness

"
Optimism fully engaged.
I'd love to love almost anything today.
Your delicate touch is what i desire.
The sensation of your kiss is something I need.

I can't fall back to earth right now.
I am feeling like an angel, in a heaven like prison.
Ghost haunt me like my bitter past,
but I am staying positive, and with that I can fly.

My memories instilled in picture frames,
even now when I can't remember a god damn thing.
Affection is a cycle, evaporates in the wind,
falls back to me through pounding rainfalls.

False happiness, in full throttle.
I can fake a smile and hide these tears.
In the absence of my mind
I see no pessimist in the mirror.

I like it. It has a lot of hidden meaning. Most of the time we fell like we have to put on a good show or fake a smile just to get through the day. More often, we have to fill our mind will a false sense of love and acceptance just to feel valid. Oh, the masks we wear. Great write.

Love the last line. Excellent way to lift from the sadness to point out you know there is hope. Love it.
