A Man of Many Hats

A Man of Many Hats

A Poem by Esther Night

A Man of Many Hats

When I hear you

Singing like a King

Dancing surrounded by the lost children

Of too young Peter Pan’s Neverland

Or

When I hear you

In your one white glove

With glitter all upon it

Loving, waiting for hate to stop

Like a starlight rays

I say

When I hear you

You beautiful example of man

Who used to be troubled and abused

Used to be accused and laughed at

A man of many hats

Though your glamor

A man of many hats
