Love's Hope

A rewrite of A Dream Within A Dream by Edgar Allen Poe. Again, for my English Project in 2008.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented crowd,
And I hold within my heart
The loss of love's new start--
How sad! yet how I keep
A hope hidden deep,
And I weep -- and I weep!
O God! can I not know
How to let the love show?
O God! can you not save
My soul from the deepest grave?
Is all that I feel not
My soul twisting in a knot?
