When trusting someone. Be wary.

There is a truth in trust that I trust you will know,
But only when that truth is shown.

Be wary your acts of selflessness.

Because,

If tainted with a touch of selfishness;

The latter, recalled to action,

The former, recalled as fiction.

The truth in trust that I trust you will know,
But only when that truth is shown

Will hurt you when you need it most in ways you cannot imagine.
