Firefly

Firefly

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

The search for that one mate goes on, blinking butts to attract.

"

Summer brings

flashing lights and

playful games of

hide-and-find.

The search for that

one mate goes on,

blinking butts to attract.

But, when summer comes,

where do they go

in the midst of

their seemingly endless search?

Still, the awakening of

life from death brings hope.

Nothing ever truly ends.

I've always wondered where fireflies go once summer ends. They never cease to returned when it returns.

Have never seen one have always wanted to but never had the chance, where do we all go when the summer leaves us and winter our only respite, maybe they too just hide themselves away and dream once more of the love they have known and long it's return. Thought provokingly beautiful, keep em' coming
