Inside OutA Poem by E.V. BlackI tugged my flesh around and swapped my outsides for my insides. This skin doesn’t feel right at all. It’s all twisted and knotted and dirty and tangled up all around me. Slowly trapping me slowly suffocating me. I know that this isn’t who I am. Who I wanted to be.
There is something inside me itching to get out, clawing its way from the depths of my soul to the conscious of my being. Here. I was lying before. Trying to deny my true self. I tugged my flesh around and swapped my outsides for my insides.
Turned inside out, I see in order and function. No longer any chaotic confusion. And if they don’t like it, screw them. My flesh is positioned perfectly with the right side out and me none the worse for wear. © 2011 E.V. BlackAuthor's Note
