Inside Out

Inside Out

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

I tugged my flesh around and swapped my outsides for my insides.

"

This skin

doesn’t feel right at all.

It’s all

twisted

and

knotted

and dirty      and

tangled up

all

around

me.

Slowly

trapping

me

                       slowly

suffocating

me.

I know

      that this

                      isn’t

                             who

                                      I

                                           am.

Who I wanted to be.

There is

something

inside

me

itching

to

get           out,

clawing              its       way

from     the      depths  of

my     soul    to        the       conscious

of                                 my                              being.

Here.

I

            was

                                    lying

            before.

Trying               to                    deny

my     true  self.

I

tugged

my

flesh

around

and swapped my outsides

for my insides.

Turned             inside              out,

I

see

in

order

and

function.

No longer any

chaotic

confusion.

And        if             they         don’t       like          it,

screw them.

My flesh is positioned perfectly

with the right side out

and me none the worse

for wear.

I like the web or emotions weaves into this. You words with the style with the font made it an almost spoken word piece. intelligent pen.

I love this. Especially the first stanza. As the font size decreased, I felt that suffocating feeling the words were trying to express. Wonderful

I love the inner you and I know you inside out both given a new meaning by your poetry. How many would given the chance peel away the outward appearence. Love the way you end this piece as I always say the only person you need to please is yourself. Keep em' coming
