No FaceA Poem by E.V. BlackFor she has no face to express her soul with. There is a mask she wears. She puts it on in the morning like a fresh coat of makeup to hide the flaws underneath. She takes it off at night before she rests in a world of floating and swirling reveries.
She follows a repetitious routine of “off-and-on.” She is no the sweet mask she appears to be. Some days she dons a fickle mask, unpredictable and impulsive to the world who thought her otherwise. Scratching, tearing, the faces of others in search of her own. For she has no face to express her soul with.
Thus, her heart is cold, disguised by sweetness or rage. To hide the hurt within. © 2011 E.V. BlackAuthor's Note
