Temple

Temple

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

My body is a temple and I am its goddess.

"

My body is a temple

and I am its goddess.

There is nothing

more beautiful than

the union of

body and soul.

Two lovers entwined

into one being.

I pay homage

to my goddess

through the gratification

and satisfaction of self.

My goddess feels

my gift of love

and blesses me in turn

with happiness.

My body sins

and soils itself,

but I do not punish it.

For what is human nature

but not to sin?

Thus, the balance of the temple

is kept and peace

ringing throughout.

To myself,

I am grateful.

Author's Note

E.V. Black
In the last year or so, I have made a deep connection with myself. I realize that my body is sacred, and whatever I do to it profoundly affects the soul and mind within it. Thus, I realized that balance is essential to human nature, and one must gratify both sides. The origin of the comparison of the body to temple and soul and mind to a goddess.

It is so important to be grateful for and to the self! This is beautiful! The body is indeed a temple and we need to listen intuitively to it a lot more :)
So well delivered, like this a lot xoxo

A beautiful write. I love reading pieces which explore the soul and its deeper meaning. I like the connection you make between body and soul. Very thought-provoking.
