unlikely treasure

Discarded thoughts collide, 
cast aside once too many times; 
now stride across crumpled sheets, 
from creative springs that rise, 
fuelling the pen and paper set alight.

Ideas once buried, now burst forth:

a battered note, a torn-out page, 
exploding in fervent rage... each
critic's stab, each cut so deep, 
pickaxes unearthing jewels, rough 
but each one worth their keep.

the struggle of an artist is one that onyl a few know. this work here, which explores the emotional turmoil involved in writing was stark and vivid. yet finding that hidden gem in the end is priceless. keep on digging, should be a motto for us writers.
