fluid mosaic

A mosaic moves, fluid and ever-changing
one-celled creatures congregate on a Petri dish
a dance of life unseen, yet profoundly felt. 

I observe, familiarity settling in
the strangeness less jarring than before
yet it still boggles the mind.

Tiny worlds collide, merge, and reform
patterns emerge and dissolve
a constant flux of existence. 

Each creature, a universe unto itself
                              …each moment
a testament to life's persistence.

In the silence of the laboratory
I ponder the complexity, the simplicity
the beauty of this microcosm. 

It evokes a sense of wonder
a reminder of the vastness 
contained within the small.

There's so much backed up in our perceptions that I wonder if we'd be far better off just resubmerging into the ashen ends of the oceanic waters on the moon with "Steve". Strange that I should choose this poem after writing in response to your review....like minds at work perhaps? Deeply enjoyed your mosaic ponderations ~

No worries...I come to post and most certainly read so trust I will indeed read. I'm not always as quick as well with the responses as I will try to get back asap but busy days so they say..hahaha.
