"an ephemeral reverie"

A Poem by redd Brick Keshner

"an ephemeral reverie"

A pixel kisses, midnight pings-

they stir you from a quiet dream.

We chase each other through glass-lit hours,

our hearts half-lit in fleeting gleams,

vanishing always with morning’s breath.

No promise etched in time's deep root-

just this flicker, bright and swift,

a breeze runs through the shifting leaves,

gone before the next breath lifts.

Your writing varies in topics and mood so, is hard to compare with other posts to be honest. Perhaps your briefer posts leave an occasional gap but that also gives time to step back and re-assess. To be honest, I need to read all your posts. Will try when I can!

This has a feel of very modern life to it, where reality and unreality merge so that we question what even is our real life any more, when we put so much effort and energy into our virtual lifes, which if we're not actually in ourpixelated life we are thinking about it more and more, thus the whatreally is real anymore question.
I used to think my real life was a lot more real than I think it is now, but that virtual unreality life has well and truly taken over now. If you don't believe me try a full day of no internet and cell phone. You'll be doing well if you haven't at least mind killed most of your colleagues before lunchtime! 😃
