just as holy

just as holy

A Poem by redd Brick Keshner

Sermon Excerpt -

Pentecost Sunday, 2004

           "Let us not mistake

tongues of fire’ for drama alone.

Sometimes the Spirit descends

as a leaf in your laundry,

or a child’s whisper in the bath.

These too are flame-

less spectacular, perhaps.

         But just as holy."
