the child with a sharp tongue
is chastised by his elders
and ostracized by his peers

the man with a sharp tongue
is likely beaten to a pulp
by no none-sense blokes

the woman with a sharp tongue
exists ever lonely and isolated
she is avoided and derided by all

Hahaha, I get you JC, and agree totally... but it seems you are referring to sharp-witted (tongued) persons while this poem connotes on the negative - as in extremely acid and loud vexations to the spirit variety and not the esteemed ones you are referring to. Else the poem would have been written with a differing slant. :-) So while I don't mind the disagreement, I would like to make this little clarification. Cheers.

Well, I hate to say it, but I strongly disagree with this poem's message. It was a good read, but history shows that the sharp tongued people are those who are remembered in quotes for decades after their own death.
