There was a sense of the great, expansive, vastness of the world in the bones of this, for me - like a traditional Chinese painting, where the human figures are depicted as very small and part of the greater landscape.
I enjoyed your narrative of living, using individual, unobserved, yet ever-present journeys; the eager flow of streams and vulnerability of lambs, etc, to build a great momentum of 'movement' which we are all inescapably caught up in. The point being made that whilst it is beautiful and organic, it is ultimately all encompassing and consuming - as is love.
For me, the three stanza's are interesting, but it is your final lines which anchor this as more than intelligent observation. The ambiguity and power of your reference to death and consummation flow so beautifully as dual metaphor for the inevitable oxymoron that 'love hurts', because it locks you into these deep feelings; just as the huge, diverse, open world we see, is only really 'freedom in a cage'' because of the irreversible laws of death. I find this tinged with the real taste of sweetness, that burns like its sour - awesomely real. So much to play with, a very interesting and successful write.

So very rare to get to love like this twice, once is a miracle, so many will never know, truly know the indescribable elation in the curve of a smile but by reading this they climb ever closer to knowing how this feels first hand.

I notice you wrote '16 books' in one of your comments. Congratulations firstly. And I do sincerely hope you have many many more to come and delight us. What more can I say?

Your visit says enough and it is deeply appreciated.
Seems she may still consume you, DrD. Was at first taken by the enchanting imagery of your own secret garden. Made privy to glimpses of your shangri la. Then an almost voyeuristic sensation ensued as you allowed us a peek of her... through your own eyes and thought.
Then the lament. Beautiful, though haunting, finale. Thank you.

And yes, she does still consume me and probably always will.

Oh dear poet, every glimpse is a macro photography of your precious quill, each moment captivated, into the purity of silence, and you lived it dearly, how do I love to be here and read your astonishing words. Thank you, best read of tonight *smiling* you're so well seasoned....

So welcome, dear poet! loved it! you should be published!!!!
It's truly a feat to be able to immerse a reader so deeply in writing. This was a very calming poem, and I feel that there is truth behind these words. The first stanza was great, probably my favorite. Thanks for sharing, DrD
