Stars

Stars

A Poem by DrD

There were fields beyond the city
Where we would lie in tall grasses
Sprinkled with bluebells and buttercups
That danced to cotton soft breezes.
And we would be alone in the world
Until fireflies flitted against the tent of night
And I would count the stars
Each one given a reason of why I loved you
And it was wonderful then
Until I ran out of stars.

I can tell you are missing her so very much of late.. and that is perfectly alright. I am just grateful that I get a glimpse into the most intimate of moments that you shared with her. I feel like a voyeur sometimes.. a sniffling, sappy voyeur cause I keep crying.. lol. Another beautiful poem with so many lovely images. They say stars are infinite, but when you've lost someone dear it is hard to even see the stars anymore. All that is left is darkness.

When the stars are no longer found we do indeed face a very dark night!! There is such joy to be found in a star filled sky when we are counting them with the one who is the beat of our heart!!

Lovely and so very romantic but sad when we the one we love is gone!!
