My religion

When asked if I believe in God
I say yes, I call her nature
For she has comforted me with endless beauty
And shown me hope in a single acorn.
She has taught me of patience and faith
And painted my world with gaudy autumns.
I found peace in the concert of tides,
Truth in the warm depths of nests
And an education in spring publishing leaves.
If I walk in a forest, I have gone to church
And discovered a touch of God in me.

I must smile as I read this. You do not show me a religion, you show me a spiritual sensitivity within your soul.
Religion, by its definition is a set of guidelines and rules. A religion is the spelling out of spiritual principles.
Thus, by the definition of what religion is, it will fail to create a complete oneness in a relationship with God.
When all must be answered for, it will be our willingness to have a relationship with God that matters most.
We do show this in our interaction with nature. Not only our appreciation of Her, but our care and respect for Her.
Likewise, with Humanity itself, as a part of Nature. If we do not love the manifestations of God, what good to rituals and ceremony do us?
I respect your spirituality David. I have seen the nature of your heart and your depth of love for the spouse provided you. We must live our spirituality or it makes no difference what we claim to believe.
