~Guard me oh Spirit~

 

 

 

 

Come with to me

Come keep me safe

Here my plea

I need a helping grace

 

 

So come…..

Come and stay

Come and play

Color the gray

And light the day

Calm the sway

Beneath the bay

Here this I say!

As I pray

As I lay

 

 

Let me sleep

With dreams so steep

No further leap

Innocence cheap

No evils creep

No bad thoughts seep

Waters undeep

Never to weep

Never to reap

 

 

But when I wake

No soul at stake

No human fake

No mistake

I will make

What’s mine to take

For my futures sake

 

 

They come at night

When there is no light

Be so bright

Help me fight

Won’t need my sight

It seems so right

Moved so slight

Join our mights

 

 

When feelings sag

Pains nag

Feel the lag

Covered in rags

And it’s you they tag

Put it in your bag

 

 

Then run with the stuff

I’ve had enough

I acted tough

And things got rough

You made the bluff

 

 

So guard me Spirit

In your arms I sit

Let the rules be writ

You’re the one who’s it

I’m held in your mitt

I’m yours to lift

 

 

Come with to me

And keep me safe

Without you I am unfree

Hold me tight in your simple embrace
