Torn and tattered

Beaten and battered

The scars shown

From what at me life has thrown

 

Each one on me tells a story

Showing me as a humans quarry

One book per scar

Just like one person per star

 

This one says hatreds

And this one says I loved

This one says abused

And this one says I’ve been used

 

So many

Uncountable

Too many

Inspirable

 

They show the past

And will be there for the future

People may ask

And I will always tell

 

At one point they hurt

And I was to hide

But knowing I still live

I can take my pride

 

The one biggest of them all

Is on my heart

I’m scarred forever

They will never tear me apart…
