desertionA Poem by Eyudo
Desertion Run away Run away from the pain Leave this island of furious heartache Before you drown in a sea of your own sorrow and tears See the one tree stand alone in the midst of the island It bends as it weeps alone The waves crash on sandy shores with angry passion Bringing you memories in bottles you wanted to forget Run away Walk on the water You cannot sink when you are lighter than life Drift away to the endless plains of abyss Hope to find someone on dock Instead of sending you back off Leave the island Escape the fear and regret For I didn’t put myself there They did They did this to me They lied to me They broke their promises They hit me They cheated me They did this to me All the hurt they sent I received And bled it out to the thirsty white sands They brought me up To break me down Piece by piece And spread my emotions around Stomping and spitting on every last piece Sin beats hot and I dry Laying there helpless and lost Still bleeding on the sand From all the new stabs they took Unbearable thoughts collide Run away Leave what they do to me A constant hurt they press on me Until I break I would call myself a fake Deny my own existence For the things they did to me So much I didn’t deserve I feel the desertion Run away © 2009 Eyudo |
