a parasitic allegoryA Poem by Eyudo
A Parasitic Allegory In an earth so messed up I have to tell this story Like worms to an apple This is my parasitic allegory Draining all things Growing in numbers We do all we can to survive But at one point We surpass survival to sin We come gluttonous and take all we can Overindulgent we are overrunning A gift that was given to us We started out small and right Now we are overpopulate and take what we want We started out so good and right Now we’re just one big mess A time lapse in-between shows a steady fall Now we hoard and use it all We’re like parasites Feeding off the life of mother earth Draining more and more Until nothing’s left Burrowing Infesting Unresting Fiends Feeding and feeding Humans are the parasitic things! So in the years from now we’re in We can look back and recall Something in this familiar story Could help us stop it all The repetition is the irony In this parasitic allegory Allegory is history This one is happening now Compared to the fires This may save the future once Fix it now Don’t ask how Stop feeding off the host © 2009 Eyudo |
