Still

I still love you and

feel stiff sore mornings.

I tell myself, "It's all downhill from here."

It's ok.

Tops of our tall green pines

weighty, eighty feet of grey, brown barking oak as

wintered Spring holding it's breath

still.

At the top of deepest gasp,

at the bottom of devoid;

the forest is motionless and waiting

so still.

How fast the fade of day!

We take a peek, then look away and

                    

the remains, remain

still.

Nice work Gene. It’s funny when we get old it’s old age but when trees are getting old we call the tree “growing” still(excuse the pun) not that tree has old age..still life goes on still.;)))))))))
