They are never really forgotten though E, are they? I recall saying recently to Chris on one of her recent writes that they only become less visible to others but are always felt by those closest to them.
It is the separation that hurts the most, no matter if you are the "lost" or the bereaved.

This one touches deep, tugging heartstrings, and filling the day's ambience with winsome memories, and as I gaze upon that profile picture of You & Beauregard, the artwork choice you selected, and listening to the perfect song, your poem's true essence all comes clearly into view.
Then, considering the world's useless, unjust carnage heaped upon the innocent by those who cannot use wisdom and the sword of reason to get along, there is the unimaginable pain those who are victimized are having to endure what we are fortunate enough to escape; so far … except, for our sons and daughters who pay dearly in the fray.
Yes, seasons do change, like life, peace and war, love and hate, health and sickness … so much that, most often, could be avoided by truly caring minds, hearts, and souls … but, 'twould seem world leaders, all too often, know of or resort to no such wonderfully compassionate, peacefully engaging, magnanimously noble strategies.
Bless you, My Good, Longtime Friend, for touching and stirring my heart on this overcast, rainy Texas day! ⁓ Richard🌾

Man, this one really hits close to home. I was talking with my dear friend just the other day about how many good and wonderful people we have lost. She lost her husband (a kind and sweet man) several years ago to brain cancer. And we have lost many mutual friends and family. I've lost a sister and a brother over the last 11 years, my best friend since my freshman year of high school (I performed a song at his funeral) It was not something I wanted to do but his widow made the request and I could not and would not refuse her. But his entire family was so pleased with what I had to say. I spoke from my heart, unrehearsed, and then played "In Color" by Jamey Johnson. His mom came up and hugged me and said, "We're not supposed to have to bury our babies, thank you so much for being here." Getting teary-eyed just remembering. Love Three Dog Night by the way. I used to do a song by them called Pieces of April on guitar but haven't played it in years. I enjoyed. F.

My decveased brother who DID have a band in Raleigh told me I should be performing. I had a podcast with a bunch of recordings I made (a few original songs but mostly covers) and I burned a CD that has some poetry and songs on it. Maybe my kids will enjoy it after I'm gone. But I've never entertained any ambitions of fame or fortune. I'm just an old hillbilly poet doing what I do. But bless you for asking! F.
A most poignant piece Mr E. The last time I saw Amy we were at a birthday celebration in February. She died in tragic circumstances six months later in August, age 30 leaving two young children. Your four beautiful lines remind me just how fleeting life can be.

Sad and dark at a time that should be light and bright. Short and to the point this poem hits the heart.
