Deafening SilenceA Poem by Fading PoeticWritten 2011.They said God cried when he saw their blood, Ten thousand young, All lay dead in the name of the Son, Ten thousand and one. And though each one had a face, Not one had a name, Only a number, Only a number. And on that day I cried with God, Ten thousand lay under the sun. An endless sea of faces, Eyes burned red, Voices burned dry, Heavenward they cried. And with a final thunderclap, A final deafening roar, We bore witness to the sound of Silence. © 2012 Fading PoeticAuthor's Note
