A Poem by Follan

The fire chases the water
The night dances with the light
The sky hugs the ocean,
My mother sings a song..
My father nods
I ask a question
I ask why the the world plays tag
Mother laughs
Father shakes his head
The water fears the sky
The night hates the fire
The ocean seeks the light
My mother dances
My father smiles
I ask a question
I ask why does the world plays tag
Mother shakes her head
Father frowns
The star smiles with the night
The ocean hugs the fire
I step out to play tag I sing my own little song
I smile and frown
The night tags me and I run with it

I like it. Its a poem that draws you into the child's search for understanding. The question remain unanswered OR is it that the Father and the Mother are stating different perspectives? It's not clear (?) The relationship with the elements is anthropomorphised by the child as a game of tag which is a very insightful analogy. It ends positively with the child and the elements playing tag. A universe that is neither completely threatening nor completely candy-coated and reassuring. Thats the only one we have!

(PS - It has some typos)
