The Church of Ophera

This was a satirical fantasy story where people in the far future mistook modern celebrities as our cultures deities. I had some weird ideas as a teenager. This piece was not finished.

According to the great doctrine of the oracles of Atel's Vision, Ophera was a great goddess who presided over her court in the late morning. She had two sisters El' An the Generous and Roch al Raye. Ophera is the Goddess of Truth, Discovery, and Fortune. Ophera was known in the Pre-Fall during the Age of Gods to give gifts to those who attended her council. One of these such gifts was that of "On Brun Noon Ka'ir" or as the ancients spelt it "A brand new car". Some Scholars believed that the gift of "On Brun Noon Ka'ir" is in reference to a type of Pre-Fall Vehicle known as an automobile which seem to be a common artifact found in Pre-Fall Ruins. According to research on the subject. These Automobiles, (or "Cars" as was the common vernacular", were seen as high status symbols and were also seen as a class marker. If this theory about "On Brun Noon Ka-ir" is accurate these "Cars" would have been a very valuable gift indeed.
