your welcome high notes create inroads to healing.

Oh do you sense with your early-bird piping
that by easing sad missing you lighten grieving ?

 

Momentary breaker of darkness with dawn
your solo lament raises hearts fraught with feeling. 

Wise avian as your trilling calms mourning
might you knowingly shower your balm over me ?

Wonderful write about the positives of birdsong. I am fortunate to have blackbirds in my garden who have the sweetest song. When my brother died, I found their notes incredibly healing. It was the blackbirds that got me out of bed in the morning when I didn't welcome each new day. I love all bird song and this poem is one of my favourites of yours Fay. An accomplished write. Stay safe in the ttorms lashing our island as I respond.

Grateful thanks for sharing your experience when blackbird helped a little with such awful grief dear Chris - I know losing an only and younger brother was so hard and drawing closer to nature helped me a lot -- birds are truly a gift. Yes today we are on the receiving end too with wind in the 70s and hard rain - keeping safe inside at the moment as I hope you are too my friend.
