Jealous of a Dream

Jealous of a Dream

A Poem by Fia Naturie

When you close your eyes
Does she call you baby
Does she make you smile
A lot more maybe

Do you tell her your problems?
Hoping she’ll solve’em
When she touches your hair
Do you lovingly stare

I am jealous
Can’t you see
You dream about her
That her, is  me

You tell me over and over
How she held your hand
Wanting you to come over
To be her man

Don’t dream and leave me here
She is not real
Touch me and compare

These tears that fall
Are real too
Each one that falls
Is because I want you

She is not real
I’ll say it again
She’s not real
I’m your best friend

Jealousy hurts in the real world,
 not in dreams
You seem to want her more
than me, it seems

I am jealous of myself.
In your dream world
She gets the best of you
I get what’s left in this world

dreams and real world are so different, right? a self reflection of sorts with deep emotions and thoughts. delicate and sensitively penned, brings out the contrasts to the fore. thanks for sharing, Fia.
