What My Eyes See

What My Eyes See

A Poem by Jessica

My eyes glide over you
Seeing every scar
Every flicker of your eye
Each smile that parts your lips
I see only beauty
You insist it's a monstrosity
That lies behind the mask
But I see your dark eyes and think
When did I go right?
How did I get so lucky?
And sitting so close now
Molded together comfortably
Even with everyone else
Screaming and stomping
I only hear one thing
Only feel one thing
You're voice as our legs touch
The shock that runs up to my head
A small jolt, and I'm alive
Feeling this for the first time
And it's never felt so right

oh my god i felt that exact same way during the volleyball game! i didn't to seem dorky by saying something about heating up completely just from our legs touching but it was so true!
