Deja Vu

Deja Vu

A Poem by Jessica

I know what she's thinking

You're the best

You're so sweet

You're her knight in shining armor

Because I was in her place

She is holding your hand

And blushing as you whisper sweet nothings

She thinks you mean them;

that you'll never let her go

But I was in her place

You're telling her every lie you told me

How pretty she is

How much you love her

and, the cliche, 'forever and always baby'

But I was in her shoes

He's wooing her

Lifting her up

Controlling her like a puppet

And just waiting for the chance to slam her to the ground

Beacause he done that to me

She's falling heels over head

She's sinking lower and lower

But she thinks she's flying

When one day her wings will disappear

Because I did that day

Little girl, don't think you're a princess

Don't think you're his only one

It's all lies

That boy will only hurt you

Because he hurt me too.
