Glow

It was only a second,

But in that one second,

I knew exactly what I needed to know.

And I threw the curtain open,

And the light beat on my face

Like an ape beats on his chest.

I could finally feel the warmth,

I could swear my face glowed.

It glowed with the strength of the Sun,

Barrelling down my body till I was alight.
