A perspective on being in a relationship with a narcissist

In the beginning as
Our relationship progressed

Deeply in love I didn’t see some traits you possessed

Looking back red flags popped up everywhere

Naively I dismissed
the signs without care

I knew and accepted
you are an egotist

But I failed to recognize you are a narcissist

Many times the words you
said to me were vicious

Your actions were intentionally malicious

Then all of a sudden you completely reversed

Perfecting the loving person you rehearsed

As if hypnotized by your charm I couldn’t resist

Blindly I denied within you true evil does exist

anyone thats dealt with a narcissist that only cares for the emotions of themselves can relate to this. I can also relate to thinking you know better, but caving in anyway. Even when you desperately don't want to. Sometimes, empathy without boundaries is self-destruction, especially when dealing with people like that. I really enjoyed this:]}}}

wow if we could but recollect the few mistakes we make while finding love

people we love can change over time... at first we see a loving, caring person..but as we continue our relationship things change,,,, all of a sudden someone becomes a devil, a mean person with crazy thoughts and mental problems that we didn't see before...evil.. which is very scary.... and so we realize this change and it breaks our hearts, but we must move on.....sad and well done

It may sound a little crazy but writing about that relationship is therapeutic for me. For the most part I have moved forward but the wounds were very deep and admittedly not completely healed. It's a work in progress...lol. I have a few not-so-good days...the good days are the majority. I am happy, at peace and enjoying my life.
