The beginning of most relationships is exciting and naively blinding.

Years Ago…
And Now

Years ago I thought you were the absolute best...
And now, everything
about you I detest

Years ago I felt so
lucky when we met..
And now, choosing to even talk with
you I regret

Years ago I thought you were my destiny...
And now I realize meeting you was a tragedy

Years ago I thought you were utterly adorable...
And now I find you vile and despicable

Years ago I thought you were honorable, ethical and just...
And now I know there’s nothing about you anyone should trust

Years ago I believed you were the answer to my prayers..
And now you are the reason I
have nightmares
