My Best Friend

I wrote this for a very special person in my life as a way to let him know how much he means to me.

You have been in my in my life for many years

Through good and bad times
through laughter and tears

Hiding my emotions has always been my cornerstone

Your friendship is unlike anything I’ve ever known

You are more than just a friend, you’re my confidant

I would never take advantage or think of you as nonchalant

I will always protect you and make sure you are alright

There’s not a person nor
Demon I wouldn’t fight

I can’t and won’t imagine surviving if we were apart

Even in my next life you will be in my heart

If only it could be eternal, once such a strong bond of friendship has formed?
